PISTOLA was formed in late 2004 by vocalist Patricia Gradín and guitarist George Podolak. Drummer Markus Koelbl joined the band in 2006. These three are the core members of Pistola. In 2005 Pistola released "HOLD FOR BLISS". The self-released EP quickly caught the attention of the indy press who called the recording "an extremely impressinve effort by a relatively young band", describing the music as "brash yet melodic, borderline experimental yet accessible". The band has been carving and nurturing a loyal fan base through hard work and various independent tours. In the process they have garnered a reputation for fierce and energetic live shows.Pistola's unique sound showcases a variant and in depth flare of post-hardcore that refuses to stay branded and thus, reaches out to and borrows from many other musical styles. In 2007 the band started work on their first full length album initially titled "Moonlight On the 11th Hour". The record produced by Andrew Schneider (Pelican, Cave-In, Unsane, Daughters, Made Out of Babies, Warship) wouldn't see a release until December of 2008, which by that time had been re-named "THE BLEEDER". With "THE BLEEDER" Pistola revealed a more focused and mature song-writing that earned them rightful ownership of their sound. A limited edition 7" color vinyl featuring the singles "Out And About With Danny Rowe" and "Chugs And Squeals" was released in December 2008 along with the digital full length release of "THE BLEEDER".
