My name is Pocahontas. I was born in Los Angeles, raised in Trenton,New Jersey and also in Long Beach, California. I am Trinidadian/El Salvadorian mix. I am one of the realest female hip hop lyricist today. People say I remind them of a female Tupac because of my subject matter and also they say they feel the pain in my voice. I've been writing in my diary ever since I learned to write. At age 11, I began writing poetry in my diary to vent my emotions and painful experiences. At about age 13, my poetry transitioned to raps. I did tons of rap battles as a teenager, many times eating alive male opponents. I was raised by cut throats in the inner city urban communities. I constantly metamorphisized my flows and writing skills in order to escape my painful past. At the same time, I attended Langston University. There, I joined the sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha and later graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. When I met Young Bo in 2001, I already had books and books of poetry and songs I had written over the years as well as several books and screenplays. He showed me the ropes on recording actual songs in the studio. He introduced me to Chilly Mac a.k.a. Cool Chills, who took me under his wing and made me his female Rapper. Together they took me through boot camp training and made me pay dues big time. They were not easy on me but they admired my hunger. Finally, I was put in their crew "Spiritual Thugs". Jag Bomb is also part of this crew. The fellas decided to kicked me out of the nest and allowed me to soar the hip hop industry on my own. I kept writing and writing and recording nonstop. 2005, I was featured on Young Bo's album, "This Is Hip Hop", featuring Kurtis Blow, Ice T, and Silkk The Shocker. Also we (Spiritual Thugs) released another album together 2006 called, "Religion Sports Politics" featuring The Narrator RBX of "The Chronic". I just released another Album "Hood America", a duet with Young Bo and producer Hoodnoiz Feb 2007 featuring C-Murder. I have had the opportunity to also do a few projects with Master P and Lil Romeo this summer. My debut solo album "Dear Diary" will be released February 2008. This album describes me to the fullest. True authentic Hip Hop!!!!!!! Not no bubble gum music! Some of my producers include Hoodnoiz, Myke Diesel, Big Dez of Beats By The Pound, Wendell Wellman a.k.a. Wendiesel and Kevin Abraham. Some of my inspirations include Roxanne Shante', Rah Diggah, Foxy Brown, Lauryn Hill, Queen Latifa, Tupac, Nas, Big L, Cool Chills, and Kool G Rap. Part time R.N., full time hip hop lyricist, Im ready to plant my flag in the movement of hip hop's ressurrection. The Most High God is my fuel.
