Every decade there is a need for an innovative mind that can carry the industry to another level, in fads, fashion, catch phrases, and style. The 80’s had, LLcoolJ, the 90’s Tupac, and now there is POETIC, for the 2000’s. POETIC started his journey in 2000. He left his hometown behind and pursued his music in Atlanta Georgia. This young ambitious artist immediately got his feet wet, hooking up with his 1st manager Percy Hampton performing in the local knight clubs, sweet auburn festivals, and showcases. POE completed his first street album, and began record sales out of the trunk. He linked up with Charlettes Webb of associates, and secured a constant weekly gig of performing with live bands, during this time he became well known at the Crows Nest I and II. Between record sales and performances he started to build his fan base but he didn’t stop there. POETIC received his first radio exposure with 89.3wrfg where his album “Hipopular” was débuted, he visited the station a few times, where he did his first radio interview. POETICS unique positive style attracted him a largely diverse fan base, that helped him to be accepted in places like Lawrenceville, Dacula, and Winder Ga. POE later met multi platinum artist Lazie Bone, from whom he received plenty of counsel and nurturing that helped him become the artist he is today. He still didn’t stop there. From the relationship with Lazie, he then established one with The Mo Thug family, and was privileged enough to open up for them in Hunstville at a showcase. POETIC, receiving plenty of exposure still wasn’t satisfied. This motivated the young artist to put out his 2nd street album “Poetology“, from which he made plenty of sales. In the first month, swiftly approaching the 1000 mark for cd sales on his own, POETIC was then introduced to his next manager Gerald McWilliams owner of GMC management. After hooking up with GMC, 24 year old POE received plenty of exposure and experience through contacts that big G had access to. POE brushed shoulders with major artist such as Dave Hollister, Christopher Williams, badboy recording artist Loon, world famous producer Deputy AKA DatBoiDep, Bullethead, Relic, Fingaz A.wall and Yung Wun from Ruff Riders. POE a sponge, took advantage of all of his experiences and internalized them. Under GMC management POE re-released the album “Poetology” from which he released the hit single “Seeds.” Thanks to Lumbajack a world known producer from Body Head, Poetic received his second opportunity to have his music played on the radio with 100.1fm in Columbia South Carolina, a clear channel station. Through his affiliation with Body Head POE, was able to attend video shoots with Magic and Chopper from No Limit Records, and world famous middle weight champion Roy Jones Jr. POETIC still performing all over the south, was asked to Headline for a Wal-Mart grand opening at a new built super center in Decatur Ga., he later was asked to open the new center in Centerville as well. A two year relationship came to a unexpected end when the artist and his manager had creative differences over label offers that weren’t closed. POE used his time wisely, by getting into the production side of his craft. Assisted by Yung Wun POETIC would go on to engineer his next two albums Missing Links, and The Black Pearl. He also raised up a young group called Properly Tamed and put together their album, as a writer POETIC has always had material, he used to say,” give me the track and I will provide the facts.” Moving to a new stage in his life, POE took a break away from the hip hop game to study the bible, he later was baptized and has now changed his style based on the blueprint of the greatest artist, who designed it all. POETIC now married to God, and the love of his life, is helping to launch a local label called Offcoast, POETIC has completed his new album called The Anthiemologist and has begun coordinating dates for his 09 tour, he is seasoned, disciplined and ready to take his place in the hip hop archives, and history.
