Rebecca has the voice, she has the songs and she has a curvaceous, intoxicating beauty that’s simply jaw dropping. Combine this with a singer/ songwriter who knows where she’s going and you have an artist who is ready to make an impact in the world of popular music. Having just released her self-titled EP, this 20 year old hails from Wasaga Beach, Ontario and has been performing since the age of 12. Her music holds true to the power rock divas of the 1980’s such as Pat Benetar and Heart, but tastefully incorporates modern rhythmic loops and funky grooves to embellish her sound. Throughout her early development as an artist, she worked with several names in the Canadian Music Industry such as Dan Brodbeck (Emac studios, London) Alex Andronache (Metalworks Studio) and Debbie Dennis, who launched Canadian punk rockers “Serial Joe” to stardom back in the late 90’s. In high school she formed a pop/rock band called “Contrast” with five classmates and spent most of her weekends performing in the Toronto area as the band’s lead singer. When she wasn’t rocking out at the front of the stage, she would be playing piano and providing subtle textures on multiple keyboards. The band had some success opening up for Canadian rockers Mariana’s Trench, Faber Drive and the Toronto based band Lye. After developing a local fan base in the Barrie area, they cut their first album in which Rebecca was a key writer. But in the summer of their graduating year they decided to part ways. Currently, Rebecca has enlisted the help of veteran Toronto guitarist Peter Mueller to produce this first solo disc, as well as co-write a trio of the songs. Peter has worked with Canadian icons such as Tom Cochrane, Buffy St. Marie and Marc Jordan. He also worked on the CTV hit TV show, Canadian Idol as supporting guitarist for its full 6 year run. Together they have created a pure sound utilizing Rebecca’s power and early classical training to move ahead of the typical “autotuning” that many of today’s pop singers rely on. Rebecca will be staging a full band showcase in the Toronto area in early 2010. Presently, she is performing in piano bars throughout Southern Ontario where she is impressing patrons and business owners alike with her talent and her beauty. We feel this is only the beginning
