February 9, 1987: In the quiet city of Raleigh, North Carolina Darius Malloy A.K.A. RedStryke (formerly known as Red Alert) was born. The second he was born to the revered Phyllis Malloy, an ordained minister in the house of God, and to the proud Benny Malloy, they noticed his musical talent. It was no surprise to Darius’ parents that their little boy had a strong passion for music because he was always surrounded by it. Even at the tender age of seven Darius began going to church with his mother, where he picked up the drums and played on a regular basis. From there, he progressed to learn the piano and today he mixes between the two mediums. Darius Also grew up playing basketball and when he was not shooting hoops with the boys, he was studying or penning down his thoughts to a beat that he would tap out. Dedicated to his craft, after school each day he would make it part of his day-to-day to write down a lyric and work on his songs. At age 14, he recorded his first rap song. “By Any Means Necessary.” His songs were his vice for expression. He would use the music to portray his feelings, his thoughts, and muses about the world we live in. Later on in his life, Darius began to participate in talent shows, clubs, and festivals in both Tampa and Bartow, Florida. Darius also released two debut albums “The G-Files and Triple Threat.” While attending college at Post University, Darius battled the stress of trying to maintain the required grades while dealing with his music. Still not giving up on his dream, Darius continued on to recording hits like “Make a Move,” his fans took to his music like kids at a candy store. With the help of his group “S.O.L.E.,” fans, and his favorite rap artist T.I. who motivated him, Darius’ music became more relevant and flamboyant. Darius’ ultimate goal is to create a new sound and make more music that people of all ages can relate to as well. While continuing to work on his music, he hopes to get his voice heard not only by his local community but also by the world in general.
