Reggie Hayze (Born Reginald T. Hayes, Jr. ) was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 22nd of 1984. Reggie was raised by both his mother and father in a home of seven children including brothers, a sister, and several cousins. He began singing when he was 3 years of age after attending one of his mother’s choir rehearsals and being captivated by the sounds the choir was making. After mimicking his mother’s voice for several years, Reginald began to branch out and mimic other influential artists and entertainers while growing up. The artists Reginald chose to study and imitate included Michael Jackson, Prince, and Stevie Wonder. Singing was always in Reginald’s life because of his mom’s presence in the field. She herself had been singing since she was 3 years old, and had established herself well in the Gospel genre as one the great local gospel artist in Cincinnati. Singing was never the focus of Reginald’s talents until his teenage years because as an adolescent he excelled in school. Reginald’s parents, nurturing his thirst for knowledge, placed him in academically inclined schools such as Walnut Hills High School, where he continued to succeed. Although Reginald loved his academics, his passion for singing was unsurpassed. Reginald honed his skills by singing in the church choir alongside his mother. His parents, weary of the whole singing idea, began pushing academics even more and opted not to send their young music prodigy to the local performing arts school. Though he didn’t agree with his parent’s choice, Reginald didn’t let a detour discourage him from achieving his dream. While attending high school at Hughes Center, he met Lorenzo Jackson II (Zo) and launched the beginning of his plan to make his dream come true. With the guidance and experience of Zo, they created The Resume LP, which featured songs like “Take You There”, “2 P.M. Til’ 2 A.M.”, and “Two Can Play That Game”. All songs were written by Reginald and Zo, and featured exclusive production by Zo himself. The Resume LP was the first album Reginald recorded. After seeing disappointing record sales and becoming frustrated with mediocre performances from Reginald, Zo decided to go separate ways with his young artist… thus beginning the assassination attempt on Reginald Hayes. After 5 years of going through fake producers, posers, disloyalty, and heartache, Reginald Hayes was finally assassinated on July 13th of 2007. Reggie Hayze was born on July 21, 2007 in a small abandoned apartment with no lights and no air. He was conceived out of the mind of Reginald Hayes and carries some of his characteristics. Reggie’s manifestation is the direct result of the death of Reginald Tyrone Hayes Jr. Reggie’s drive, hunger, and existence are totally dedicated to succeeding by any means necessary. Reggie is preparing his second LP entitled, “The Stereotype LP” under the direction of Urban Dynasty Entertainment. Reggie proclaims that this album will be a defining piece of artwork that the artist Reggie Hayze was destined to create. Filled with the blood, sweat and tears of a man, his listeners are in for the best of the man formerly known as Reginald Hayes, now known as Reggie Hayze.
