(Check our EPK for Reviews) Resonance Project was formed in late 2007 as the brain child of Australian guitar hero Graham Greene and his wife, vocalist Donna Greene to perform at a special concert held at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam in January 2008. The lineup of the band - Graham, Donna, second guitarist Saxon Smith, bassist Jim Awram and drummer Tommy Ions - had been together for two years as Graham’s solo band (Graham Greene & The Happy Sinners), playing instrumentals and vocal tracks from Graham’s solo albums. Graham had toured to Australia’s east coast in October 2007 to appear as a featured guest for the inaugural Guitar Heroes:Guitar Fest in Sydney, where the band was very well received by fans and industry peers alike. The Sydney tour coincided with the release of Donna’s first solo CD, Resonance (Spirit Of Man), which was a collection of the four vocal tracks from Graham’s CDs plus the title track. Seeing the great response the songs drew from crowds, they knew they were onto something. Wanting to offer a purely vocal repertoire for the Vietnam concert, Graham and Donna decided that a band unit was more desirable than appearing under just one person’s name. Looking no further than Donna’s CD title for inspiration, the band name was chosen.Already a tight and professional unit, Resonance Project excelled at the Vietnam concert in front of a live crowd of 15,000 and a VTV1 viewing audience of six million. The immediate feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and it was obvious to all the members that the right choice had been made in forming the band - the chemistry was unmistakable, on and off stage. Donna’s amazingly strong and melodic voice was the perfect foil for the powerful and memorable music written by her husband, and the band’s interpretation and performance of the songs (co-written by Graham and Donna) completed the equation, producing dynamic, catchy, world class Progressive Melodic Rock. Continuing with their winning formula, the band has added a selection of newly-penned material to their show, and pre-production is currently underway for an album to be recorded as Resonance Project as the band resonates at a new high in 2008.
