It all started in the 8th grade when lead guitar played Kyle Schonewill, singer / songwriter / acoustic guitar player Grant Geertsma and former drummer Tyson Wevers, got together and started playing their own music. They had been playing together for a couple of years already, but it wasn’t until then that they started playing their own music. Soon, another electric guitar player, Josh Gritter, was added to the band as well. A couple of years, shows, and a debut c.d. later, drummer Tyson Wevers had to go to college so Ringer T replaced him with new drummer, Justin DeWaard. Grant Geertsma continued writing all of the songs and bringing them to the rest of Ringer T to figure our new parts to them. When Kyle, Grant, Josh, and Justin reached their junior years of high school, they added a bass player, Kyle’s brother, Kristopher Schonewill. The newly permanent band clicked really well. Over the next couple of years they continued to play shows, write more music, and record new C.D.’s. To this day, they have recorded two C.D.’s and an E.P. Just recently Grant, Kyle, Josh, and Justin went to attend their freshman years of college at separate universities, while Kristopher stayed back to try and finish up high school. And that is where they are today. Ringer T hopes to continue to write more music and play more shows when they are all home together on breaks and over the next few summers.
