Since the late 1990's, upstate New York native Amanda Rogers has opened for some of the most acclaimed rock, emo, and jam bands in the industry. With her classical background, love for blues and pop, and admiration for the local hardcore/indie music scene, Amanda was mixing things up and catching the attenion of many concertgoers around the northeast. After self-releasing several recordings, in 2003 Amanda released her album The Places You Dwell with Immigrant Sun Records, and began to experience an even faster growing interest in her music. Amanda then toured the U.S. and Europe, headlining clubs and indie venues herself, and went on to record her next album Daily News. After the release of Daily News she returned to Europe with a massive growth in attendance within just a couple of months.
.
Since then, Amanda Rogers has released an EP containing new songs and breathtaking cover songs by Radiohead and At The Drive-In, played numerous shows in the States and two more tours in Europe. In Spring of 2008, she headlined another European tour with friends "The Sketchy Indians" backing her up in support of her highly anticipated album Heartwood. Amanda returned from a Canadian/U.S. tour this past spring and immediately got to work in the studio to record a few "secret" records as well as her Upcoming album Hope From The Forgotten Woods which should be out spring 2010. (www.mybonnieandclyde.com, a site for indie artists) Los Angeles-based internet radio station that exclusively plays female solo/fronted artists called KGRL (http://www. kgrl. fm) has listed HEARTWOOD as one of KGRL's Best Albums Of 2008. "The latest record from Amanda Rogers, titled Heartwood, sounds like a bit of an awakening. This new record from the indie pop singer / songwriter offers a livelier out-of-the-gloom experience than her previous works. This is perhaps the perfect album to introduce Amanda Rogers to someone who has not yet heard of her music. My favorite tracks: Drive, Endless Saturday, Hibernating, This Beauty, Cabin Muse, Fate's Northern Shore, Operator, and Ghost Of You." HEARTWOOD, #27 on Top 100 albums of 2008 by Bay Area based music blog (www.katarokkar.cribble.net) "Amanda Rogers - Heartwood: Sweet and smooth songwriting has never been so cute. Ms. Rogers takes her sound in a more upbeat direction and the results are superbly heartwarming" Listed #4 top record of 2008, by pacdan for eternalwanderer.com “By far her best album yet album yet, every track is simply a joy to listen to combining quality songwriting, Amanda’s pretty but never bland vocals, skillful piano, and sensible guitars and strings that never overpower the rest of the music. It’s simply a triumph of “indie pop” music, and definitely one of this year’s absolute must listen albums. Strongly recommended to anyone who doesn’t mind their music a bit on the lighter side, and anyone who is a fan of Rogers’ previous releases should love it.” Amanda Rogers is listed and in rotation as a favorite artist for Albany,NY Radio Station WEXT.
