Fierce, fun, edgy, and brave are just some of the words that describe Samantha Marq. Samantha emerges on the music scene with a voice and style that defy club scene complacency. Combined with her incredible beauty and fashion style Samantha is a uniquely sensational artist that stands apart from the rest. Growing up in Virginia Beach, a young Samantha grew up surrounded by the music industries top talent. Her Father, Michael Marquart, owned a prestigious recording studio: Windmark Recording. It was there that Samantha watched as Justin Timberlake recorded "Justified" and the famed production duo “The Neptunes”, recorded a majority of the work. Additionally, Samantha's father Michael has a musical background of his own, being a member of the 80's supergroup “A Flock of Seagulls.” Throughout high school Samantha was eager to be involved in anything having to do with entertainment. She was in every musical theater performance possible; she studied at several performing arts camps. She sang the National Anthem not only at her school's sporting events but also at others, including an NHL hockey game in Nashville with an audience in the thousands. Upon graduation from High School Samantha moved out to California in hopes of pursuing a career in music and dance. Enrolled in Pepperdine University, Samantha spent all of her free time in L.A. hoping to somehow get her foot in the door of the music business. After a few collaborations with different producers, Samantha met dancer/choreographer Kenny Wormald who then introduced her to rapper/producer K.O., (who's credits include Britney Spears, Leighton Meester, Lil Flip, and the film Stomp the Yard) and her musical dreams finally took off. Samantha has since graduated from Pepperdine University and is currently putting the finishing touches on her debut CD, "The Evolution of Love in Dysfunction", which is set for release in the beginning of 2010. The album includes the hit single "Supergirl" featuring Jessie Payo of Jupiter Rising and each track on the album represents a different entry in Samantha's diary as she goes in and out of being in love. There is no doubt that between Samantha's natural talent, and the experienced team behind her, this album is set to be a sure fire hit!
