My pulse is the four-four time to the chords I strum. My breathing sets the pace for the lyrics that pour from my heart and not my head. For that one moment, those few minutes, I know that this is exactly what I’m supposed to be and where I’m supposed to be. It pulls all the pieces of my life back together and everything is right. It’s my only stability when nothing else seems permanent. Music is my life and I want more than anything to share it with whoever will listen. I want to help people through music, because that’s what music did for me. It was all I had when everyone else was letting me down. I want to be an influence to people, to show them that there’s always a way to work things out; be it in their hands or someone else’s, there’s hope for a better day. Mostly, I want people to feel like they’re not alone when they hear my music, to take comfort in the fact that one person made it out alive and so can they. My name is Sami and my lifelong dream has been to pursue a career in music, and hopefully this will be my start.
