BIO "Shari Lynn is an energetic new artist who is poised to catch the attention of country fans everywhere." - Jason McCoy, The Road Hammers. Born in Canada, Shari Lynn grew up listening to many different styles of music. "I've listened to it all! I grew up in a small town outside of Barrie, Ontario and my passions were music, horses and playing cards. They still are today!" Over the years, Shari was able to develop herself as a performer having started out in a tribute band traveling and performing across Canada and the USA at casinos, bars as well as headlining fairs and festivals of up to 32,000 people. "It was a great learning experience and a stepping stone for who I am today." With her success as a tribute artist, Shari was hired by Corus Entertainment and interviewed by CMT Canada and Country 95.3. In 2003, she was asked to join Shania Twain on stage at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto by Twain herself. She was later asked by CTV to be a special guest on Canada AM with Shania Twain co-hosting the show. "In June of 2006, I was called by one of my agents to play a date in Gogama ON just outside of Timmins.” Shari recalls, “It was a big compliment as a performer to learn that this was to perform for Shania's family and friends at the place where she grew up. I was later told by the Chief of the reserve, Willis, of Mattagami First Nations, who is also her cousin that I was recommended by Shania herself, for which was a great honour." After several years of working hard at her tribute act, Shari took a shot at branching out as an original artist. In 2004, Shari got her break, when she was invited to showcase some original songs in South Carolina along side Grand Ole Opry Stars, Ernie Ashworth and the legendary Charlie Louvin of The Louvin Brothers, who won a Grammy in 2004 for the tribute album, Livin', Lovin', Losin': Songs of The Louvin Brothers. "It was a great experience and privilege performing with Charlie. He's very funny and loves to tell jokes! He made me laugh alot and we really hit it off! He's still a good friend today." remarks Shari. Charlie took an interest in Shari and offered to help her in any way he could. Louvin states, "Shari is better than two thirds of what is on the radio now. She is definitely super star material, she's got a million dollar personality and she's cute too!." A friend of Shari's, Cindi Marx comments, "It was in 2004 that Shari decided to pursue her dreams of becoming an original artist. I was back stage with her at the Grand Ole Opry when Little Jimmy Dickens came up to her and said, 'I know you, you're Shari Lynn!' Everywhere we went people warmed to her. Another time during Fan Fair, we were standing on Broadway in downtown Nashville with longtime pal Jason McCoy (The Road Hammers) who said, 'If I had a dollar for every person that came up to you, I would be rich!' When she opened for McCoy as herself, a nice touch was when a fan showed up with a brand new Chevy truck with the windows tinted with her pictures on them and a license plate that read 'SHRILNFN'." Shari has just completed her debut album titled 'Can You Cut It', scheduled to be released in January 2009. Can You Cut It, which took more than 2 years to develop, was produced by Helio 'Allan' Coelho (TAPPS/The Macarena) and Tom McKillip (Aaron Pritchett/Lisa Brokop). It includes award winning musicians John Dymond, Wendell Ferguson, and Jorn Andersen, as well as Randle Currie and Justin Williamson, who are currently on tour with Brad Paisley. The CD was recorded in Mississauga ON, Vancouver BC. with overdubs recorded in Nashville TN. The CD was mixed by L Stu Young (Prince) and Kevin Churko (Ozzy Ozbourne/Shania Twain). Churko later commented, “Shari Lynn has some of the best ears in the business! A pleasure to work with!” Can You Cut It's songs were influenced by Shari’s past relationship experiences. "I've lived through an emotional roller coaster when it comes to relationships and I wished that I had songs to help me cope with leaving the situation instead of hanging on and putting myself through hell. Through trial and error it all worked out for me and it provided me with inspiration for songs. I think alot of people will relate to the music. Through the songs I sing, it brings back the old emotions, but this time in a positive way. I'm much more confident now and hope my songs will help others.."
