Born in the small town of Madison, Fl, he had all of the odds of being successful against him. Madison is not your typical city with millions of people and thousands of jobs to choose from. It actually is quite the opposite. With the majority of the town living in below poverty conditions, it's almost impossible to make it out. Madison, Fl, is known for its spectacular football team and if someone is going to make it out, football is, more than likely, going to be the way. Though he was magnificently talented at baseball and basketball, he was kind of small and didn’t really have a strong liking of football. He wasn't your typical athlete. He also had a strong love for music and enjoyed playing the saxophone and drums for his middle school band, but the likelihood of making it out of Madison was slim to none. On March 30, 2001, tragedy struck Shawt Deezy, his family, and his community with an unexpected and unforgettable blow. He was going to check on his then sickened father and unexpectedly found him deceased. The death of his father left him with lots internal feelings that needed to be released. He would soon find a way to release those feelings. He vented his feelings in words, mostly poems at first. Deezy had always been highly intelligent. He decided the poems weren’t speaking loud enough from paper and decided that he would turn those poems into music. Shawt Deezy would visit the neighborhood in which his father lived occasionally, but after his fathers death he became apart of it and everything that it had to offer. This meant that if anyone had a problem with Shawt Deezy, they had a problem with the whole neighborhood. Like mentioned before, there wasn’t much opportunity in Madison, so most of the time the only way one could possess any financial gain was to sell drugs. Violence was starting to surround him and beginning to suck him in with it. This way of life was thought to be the best way for a young teen looking for his own identity and respect. Living the street life from that day on was his motto. After a while, the street life got old for Shawt Deezy for numerous reasons. Losing homeboys to death and the others to betrayal, he finally had enough and decided to focus more on getting out of Madison. In the year 2005, He relocated to Tallahasse, Fl, to focus more on himself and his music. He now had a story to tell and a sound to back it up called Soul Hip Hop. His first musical project consisted of a collaboration with “D.J. Earl”. He has been featured on several different mix tapes produced by “ D.J Big Jell-E” such as “ Underground Radio” volumes 1, 2, and 3 and “King of the Party Scene.” Deezy teamed up with fellow underground rappers “Prophecy” and “ Trouble Slim”. Together they put together a mixtape named “The BRC Hitlist”. He didn’t like the outcome of the album and decided that he would try a different approach. Deezy once again linked up with “D.J Earl” and together they came up with the mixtape named “ Soldier World”. By year 2008, He decided work on his first solo mix tape named “ Da Year of Da Undadawgs.” He has performed in contests, at car shows, and even opening act performances for celebrities. He feels as if his time is now and he’s stopping at nothing to accomplish his main goal of becoming a household name. Shawt Deezy has a variety of talents to bring to the table. He not only raps, but he also writes, manages/promotes other artists and events, and engineers recordings. His mixtapes "The Power Move" and “Big Business” are now available for download. “Big Business” was suppose to be only a mixtape, but supporters and fans went to saying the name so much that he decided, “Why not make it a company since it is already getting many screams”, which was a very wise business move. The start of Big Business as a company led to photographers, promoters, DJ’s, producers, and various artists wanting to get involved in this “nationwide” movement. This album has the unique sounds of southern hip hop and various productions from his sister-like business partner, Brittany “Coneygurl“ Coney, who lives in Atlanta, Georgia (interned at T.I.‘s “Grand Hustle Studios“). Shawt Deezy’s lyrics are street conscious and entertainment. He speaks on the life of a young black man from a small town filled with crime and minimal ways to make it out. You can be from any black community across the nation and there is something that you and he would have in common. He is not only a voice for himself, but a voice for Northeast Florida and the young black men who have all the potential in the world but because of failing circumstances aren’t able to capitalize on it. He discusses issues ranging from, losing a parent to losing a handful of friends before they reached the age of 18. He also speaks on what motivated him to pursue his dreams and advises others to do whatever it takes to pursue theirs in a society is set up for young black men to fail. He has a variety of club hits that will have you dancing when you hear them. His music expands into other communities; whether it is the north, south, east, or west. If you have ever dealt with a death in the family, lost a loved one to the prison system, or just want to get up and dance a little in the club, Shawt Deezy has a song you can feel. He knows how to relate to his fans and is able to use his book sense to put what he is talking bout into perspective. Recently relocating to Atlanta, Ga, where he is now under the management of Mike Shine (Diamond In The Rough Mgmt Group LLC), he is ready to continue into another chapter of his quest for success. With over 100,000 followers on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, other websites all over the internet, and industry connects, from “Universal Records" and more, It wont be long before he gets that big break.
