THE SILVIA SOUL BAND…Enter my world…Entra a mi mundo! Silvia Soul was born in Rancagüa, Chile. A small town located just south of Santiago, the capital city of this little known South American country. Coming from a family of seven, including her twin sister, Silvia always found ways to stand out in a crowd. Her mother often recalls cherished memories of young Silvia’s impromptu performances for family and friends. At the age of 15, Silvia and her family uprooted themselves from there native Chile and immigrated to Los Angeles in search of a better life. Struggling with a new environment and a new way of life Silvia dove into art, focusing her teenage mind in painting and composing music at the age of 17. These disciplines quickly become her way of expression.From Los Angeles, Silvia moves to Mexico City, where she dedicates all of her time training her voice and learning the industries of Latin, pop, rock culture and of the Latin entertainment industry, adding that flavor to her soul of inspiration... After spending 5 years in Mexico City, Silvia returns to Los Angeles to attend the prestigious "Musicians Institute" in Hollywood, rounding out her musical education with a degree in Recording Engineering. Slowly she starts to play out in different venues in L.A. experimenting with new sounds on various projects from R&B to Latin to Jazz to Rock...with this in mind she learns that collaboration is one of the greatest gifts and decides to collaborate with other musicians and composers that is when she finds her “music soul mates” Willis McNeil and Willman Morcillo creating a solid group of collaborative friends as she calls them…The Silvia Soul Band sound is a deliberate fusion of various genres of music, co-created by an ethnically diverse group of musicians. Singer, Composer and Sound Engineer of songs Silvia Soul (Chile) brings her touch south American life and passion into her music. Rhythm Guitarist, Vocals and composer Willis McNeil (USA) brings both funk and soul to the arrangement of every song. Lead Guitarist, Vocals and Composer Willman Morcillo (Colombia) lends his touch of rumba flamenco and rock to the compositions… (other members are guests in the performances that includes drummer, percussions, bass, piano, etc…).Silvia’s music has been described as a mix of Latin pop, flamenco funk fusion. “Full of Latin flavor and adventurous sound immigrating from the souls of this diverse group of creative musicians. Un pequeña ciudad localizada al sur de Santiago, la capital de este pequeño y conocido país sudamericano. Viniendo de una familia de siete, incluyendo a su hermana gemela, Silvia siempre encontró la manera de destacarse entre la multitud. Su madre a menudo recuerda las dulces memorias de la jóvene desempeñandose e improvisando frente a su familia y amigos. A los 15 años, Silvia y su familia deciden emprender nuevos caminos, de su país natal Chile inmigrando a Los Angeles en busca de una mejor vida. Luchando con un nuevo ambiente y un nuevo estilo de vida Silvia decide enfocarse en el arte, manteniendo su mente adolescente enfocada en la pintura y en componer música desde los 17 años. Estas disciplinas llegan a ser rápidamente su manera de la expresión. Desde Los Angeles, Silvia viaja rumbo a México D.F., donde ella dedica todo su tiempo en entrenar su voz y aprender la industria latina del entretenimiento, la cultura pop y rock, agregando ese sabor e inspiración a su alma... Después de pasar 5 años en México D.F., Silvia vuelve a Los Angeles para asistir a un prestigioso colegio unoversitario "Musicians Institute" en Hollywood, adquiriendo su educación musical con un post grado en Ingeniería en Sonido. Lentamente ella empieza a tocar en diferentes lugares locales de shows en vivo experimentando con nuevos sonidos en varios proyectos desde R&B a la musica latina, al Jazz, etc... Es en esta estapa de su vida donde se da cuenta que la colaboración es basica para los musicos y decide encontrar un grupo colaborativo de compositores el cual los llama sus “almas gemelas de la musica”. El sonido de The Silvia Soul Band es una fusión deliberada de varios géneros de la música, co-creado con un grupo de diversidad étnica de músicos. La Cantante, compositora e ingeniero en sonido Silvia Soul trae un toque Sudamericano y su pasion Latina a su música. El Guitarrista, cantate y compositor Willis McNeil (USA) agregando funk y soul a cada canción. El Guitarrista Lirico, cantante y compositor Willman Morcillo presta su toque de rumba flamenco y rock a las composiciones (todos los otros musicos son invitados en las presentaciones eso incuye bateria, teclados, bajo, etc…).La música de Silvia ha sido descrita como una combinación de pop, acústico y funk.
