After much hard work and dedication to her craft and attempting to deliver positive messages within popular Hip Hop, Sky 'D' became fed up with Negative / Bling / Bang music. She wanted to convey a positive and uplifting message to the masses while continuing to catch the ear of those who normally ignore conscious Hip Hop. The options were to give it all up, conform, or revamp and be true to herself. Sky 'D' chose to be TRUE. The most daring and "gansta" thing anyone can do is come to the hood and stand out in the midst of clones. She comes from a family line of live musical performers so it was perfectly natural to put together a band that would aid in projecting her vision.
