Biography

Music speaks to my humanity. It sets my soul on fire. To say that music makes me happy is a gross understatement. Music is life. Music is the way I connect with people, and it helps me make sense of this crazy world we live in.     There was a period in my life where I thought I could convince myself otherwise. I tried to be practical and tell myself that I could do music on the side, or just in my free time. Needless to say, I will never make that mistake again.   ...

Since then I’ve been working on getting back to the basics of who I am as an artist: revisiting childhood inspirations like like Michelle Branch, P!nk, Vanessa Carlton, Meg & Dia, Kelly Clarkson, FlyLeaf, Sara Bareilles & Paramore; falling in love with music for a second time (which is just as wonderfully intoxicating as the first time), and laying it all out in my songwriting.     My first EP entitled The Bedroom Sessions – EP is your for the taking. Part I: Songs About a Boy will be released May 2015. Stay tuned.     Remember: Fitting in is vastly overrated, and being “normal” is an illusion. So don’t ever be afraid to be a little weird.     - Solia
