Solomon Smith Also Known as L3GACY was born on May 5th 1989, grew up with the care of his brother in New York City but before that lived in a foster care home in Brooklyn NY. At the age of 6 he moved from Brooklyn to go to Manhatten and live in Harlem with his older brother. He never really had his a mother and father around but would visit them from time to time. At the age of 6 L3GACY fell in love with music and everything about it. He would listen to music from other countries like Asia, Germany and Ireland. At the age of 11 he learned how to play the piano by first learning the simple scale by a man name Mr Armstrong, who was a pianist at a church nearby in the neighborhood. He took that one lesson and made a song out of it and then realized he had a gift. He is self taught and while in the process kept practicing famous songs by ear and eventually learned to read a little. He was able to improvise and listen to songs then play them within 10 minutes. When L3GACY turned 14 he began to make beats on his keyboard and made alot but couldnt save them so he wrote the notes down and the sound he used incase he would one day. He would play for his friends and family just to see the reaction he would recieve. He knew that making music was another way to make people feel emotion good or bad. At 17 years old he began rcording all the songs he had been writing since 14 and loved it. He taught himself how to mixdown tracks, cut, record, and just create everything alone. L3GACY at that age was interveiwed by a very nice woman named Martina Butler who stayed with him a whole day to talk to him about "how is it for a teenager to live in New York City". The main part to her was the fact that he composed his music alone, Vocalized and would rap. "Making music is my life and i am dead serious about it he said to her. The Interview was played over the radio in Germany for a while. "I make beats alone, record alone, write my own songs and mixdown my tracks alone" he said. "I started playing keyboard when i was just 11 and i was taught a scale and that i taught myself everything else...i would make beats on my keyboard alot...i played faster and faster everytime i practiced...now i make intrumentals all the time". L3GACY started to save his beats using the programs on his computer that his brother got for him. Instrumental after instrumental came out. He then said to himself he wanted to try singing, wich he did but it didnt really work out for him. So he would vocalize and rap instead and incorporate it into his music. Being influenced by Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Pharrell, and Mike Shinoda for their unique beat style. Also being influenced by Eminem, 50 Cent's song creation techniques, and Chris Brown’s enthusiasm on his records. L3GACY seems to have a real drive and love for music. And has the dreams, and hopes of making it his long life career.
