They are a frequent presence in earth day, peace, justice and climate action events. Somebody's Sister was a semi-finalist in national publication MUSICIAN MAGAZINE's best unsigned bands of 1996 & 1998.Past venues(solo and together) have included Harper’s Ferry, The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival(1993 co-winner of the Artist's Showcase), the Boston Hatch Shell, The Burren, Ryles, Club Passim, Johnny D's, Yankee Homecoming Festival, Foxboro Stadium-Earth Day, All Asia, The Peace Abbey, The House of Blues, The Middle East, All Asia, Sally O’Brien’s, Smithwick's, HMV stage, The Hard Rock Cafe, The Peace Abbey- - not to mention just about every coffeehouse in the Boston area! They’ve shared the stage with Emma’s Revolution, Magpie, Geoff Bartley, Dean Stevens, Entrain, Greg Brown, Catie Curtis, Greg Greenway, Laurie Sargent, David Mallett, Sam Hooper, Merrie Amsterburg, Joel Cage & Laurie Geltman among others.Stein and Selcer are a magical combination. Stein's riveting voice evokes the ethereal Jane Siberry & Edie Brickell, with the vibrancy of Sheryl Crow. Her conga playing combines her own style with rhythms from the world over She is a Harvard Medical School graduate, a sought after speaker on grass roots politics, environment and social justice, a part time physician and mother of two. Selcer is at equally at home on solo acoustic guitar as he is with a band. He has performed everywhere as a solo singer/songwriter honing his songs and solo performing on the vital New England acoustic scene. He’s also led bands from duos to 6 piece led by his mesmerizing guitar & intimate vocals. He is a Berklee College of Music alum who owns and runs Selcer Sound and Graphics, a full service music sound and graphics company, and teaches music.
