Lyrics with a profound metaphysic meaning influenced by various classics such as Pink Floyd, Whitesnake and Scorpions, the band combines the hard rock sound with lyrical vocals and singular production. Among the compositions there are also blues and ballads inspired in philosophical and classical themes but with an unusual view.
History:
The band has a long journey through music.
Regi and Vinicius have been playing together since teenagers, passing by different band formations. They have always been influenced by the heavy metal, hard rock and progressive classics. They have studied and explored the sounds of Metallica, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Frank Zappa and many others. Both have worked together on experiments connected to fractality on music and on poetry.
Regi has also made some experiments on electronic music producing the CD Alchemical Love in 2007. Vinicius experience with electronic was playing the drums and percussion with DJ Morita in the Live Deluxe.
Daniele’s studies were on opera singing, she is a dramatic mezzo-soprano. Although she has also had a good contact with hard rock and heavy metal her first influences were the Brazilian 80s rock, MPB composers such as Tom Jobim, Caimmy, Toquinho and the movements Bossa Nova and Clube da Esquina.
Putting together their philosophies and musical knowledge brought about the Sophia project, which is a mix of their history. The lyrics are a discussion about deep metaphysical themes, and the sound is a unique bland of styles.
“Our songs are based on Socrates’ philosophy which states that all man need to seek the true Beauty and the real Good. That is a quest o lifetime and the art is the purest ground to develop man skills toward the essence of the soul. That's beyond any religion or culture, music is the 'drug' that urges us to make our essence real. There are things that can only be realized when put through music.
This band is our expression of Love, with the songs my intention is to carry the listeners through all steps of Love described by Socrates. Some blues, some rock, some ballads. Any critics or comments are welcome.
