Space Paranoids met to play together for the first time in December 2006, but it’s just during the winter of the 2007 that they start to compose first songs from the jam sessions. The initial idea was to travel into stoner rock meanders, almost forgot in the local scene of Mondovì (Italy, CN), and then to expand into psychedelic rock and doom sounds. Every component of the band took with himself all his musical experience, in a variety that starts from punk-rock and goes on to emo, hardcore and thrash metal. The final result of this mixture of different influences is a sound that we would like to call “mountain rock”: since we have seen the desert only in Sergio Leone’s westerns, we prefer taking inspiration from our alpine valleys from which is born our anthem “West side”. Songs come out simply from everything surround us: animals (“Green heron”, “Goat bridge”), mountain characters (“Cyrus the river man”), the space over our heads (“Space queen”, “4 milky ways, please”) and trips thanks to spices and beer (“Mystic train”,"It tastes of beer and beans", “To die and to let die”).
After a satisfying numbers of live shows, we decided to record the first promotional EP, so during the 2008 winter, exactly one year after the band formation, everyone did his best at Taricco’s studio thanks to Andrea Bailo to record three of the most representative songs; the work ended with the mastering of Alessandro Vanara.
The desire to play and experiment our music is very high, so get ready to listen to something.
