Growing up in Hampton and Newport News, VA, Mark SPAID Williams has been into music since elmentary school. However, it was in high school that, now 21 years old became serious and joined forces with a friend as the rap duo 50/FIFTY Later renamed SOUTHCITY. They then gained recognition locally by winning talent shows after talent shows. The manager, at the time Venny Galveno with Major Hittaz Entertainment, Inc., kept the young teens grounded and prepared them for the rap grind. They worked diligently at their craft to become the hottest group in their market. The work paid off, when they won a chance to open up for top recording artists such as Ashanti, Fat Joe and Hoobastank, during the Y-Tour. They gained respect for their stage presents welcoming more shows and events. With enhancing their resume with opening for Platinum artists such as Chris Brown, Ne-yo, Sean Paul, Bubba Sparks, Christina Millian, Remy-Ma, and many more. The group’s word play and clever punch lines captured the ear of radio personalities and deejays at 103jamz, Z104 and Hot 102. Soon Spaid and Triumph were doing promos and drops for the commercial radio stations with releasing their own mixtape, We Here Now LP-BootCamp Version, which received grieve reviews. Jack of Spade, their road DJ, also DJ Strez and the Budda Brothers all said they are a breath of fresh air for the VA hip-hop scene. A mutual friend of management gave their mixtape to an up-and-coming credited producer named J-Praize, from Queens, New York. He is the producer of 50 Cents Platinum single, Wanksta. He was impressed by the group and thought they had great potential and they all came together with the decision to work together with him being an in-house producer on their project. Talent’s short move to the West Coast caused a strain on his partnership with duo act South City. Although he and Triumph remain partners to this day - $PAID formally known as Talent has resurrected as a SOLO Artist. $PAID’s explosive sound and catchy hooks will take him up the charts! $PAID is currently writing and producing R&B and Hip-hop songs for a lot of artist. There is no limit to what he can do. ...-SPAID
