About Steven Lee Olsen
La Vergne, TN
It's a long drive from Newmarket, Ontario to Nashville, Tennessee - especially in a 1997 Chrysler. Empty stretches of highway can breed intimidating thoughts, but for Steven Lee Olsen it would take more than that to deter him from the dream to become an internationally known hit-songwriter and artist. So, ready to live that dream, he had packed his bags and his guitar after being discovered by publishing executives on-line at the age of twenty and hit the road.
When both feet landed in the South, Steven Lee signed a publishing deal with Roots Three Music/ole. It took less than a year for his writing schedule to include hit makers such as Angelo, Luke Laird, Richie Supa, Gordie Sampson, Troy Verges, and Bruce Wallace. His impression on Music Row as a world‑class writer was solidified when Craig Morgan recorded Olsen's song "Ordinary Angels".
In the spring of 2008, Steven Lee was asked to attend a writing camp in Sweden. Swedish Idol winner Kevin Borg recorded Steven's song "Street Lights" which was a top 10 smash. Publishers in Los Angeles took notice of Steven Lee's work and invited him to a high‑profile song camp in Hollywood where he wrote with The Runners (Chris Brown) and other notable composers. His songs have internationally become in high demand. Recently, Steven Lee's song "Unbreakable" was recorded by Nashville Star winner Melissa Lawson for her debut album.
"I'm constantly looking for new ideas to work into the fabric of my songs", says Steven Lee. "I've been very fortunate to work with amazing songwriters to help me with this journey; they remind me that my next title or idea can be around the next corner of life."
In 2009 Steven Lee will unveil another side of himself to the public his talent as an artist. With weekly on-line video chapters and song teasers, fans will be encouraged to follow along and participate in his progress. His on-line presence will be followed up by a single to radio and a video on CMT this spring.
