Steven Wesley was born to sing and perform. He was given his first guitar by his grandfather, at the age of two, and Steven has been playing and performing ever since. Steven Wesley was born to sing and perform. He was given his first guitar by his grandfather, at the age of two, and Steven has been playing and performing ever since. He had a Magic touch at a young age and was seen my all. Born to a musical family with music in their blood, both sides of his family played and performed music. His musical roots go back from the time his great, great, grandfather left Centerville, TN, and left his relatives behind to bring his family to the Pacific Northwest in a covered wagon to establish a new life in the Yakima Valley. One of the cousins he left behind was none other than the famous Miss Sarah Ophelia Colley Cannon, later in life and better known as, Miss Minnie Pearl”. Steven excelled in music performances throughout school where he performed anywhere he could. In high school, Steven was the lead singer of a group and won many awards, and the four of them to this day are still the best of friends. Upon graduation of high school, Steven wanted to serve his country and joined the US Marine Corp. Steven fought proudly in Desert Storm and won several awards including a Purple Heart. As Steven returned from the Middle East, he was stationed in 29 Palms, California where on Sundays he was able to relax at a Cantina Saloon in old Pioneer Town called Pappy and Harriet’s. Pioneer Town is where many old westerns were made in the high desert above Yucca Valley. There he had quite a following and found his love for performing while Pappy and Harriet encouraged him to pursue his musical career. While stationed in 29 Palms during his none duty hours he also performed for many PRCA rodeos. During this time Steven began to write songs such as Midnight Rodeo, Lifeline of Love, Forever and A Day, Heaven Bound and Dirt Devil. After the Marine Corp., Steven played Honky Tonks and bars all across the Southwest and headlined for Neal McCoy, Mark Collie, Johnny Rodriguez, George Strait, Tracy Byrd and more. Steven remembers when backstage with George Strait at a concert and George asked, “just how do you play that guitar upside down? Steven is left handed and when on stage it can seem he's playing his guitar upside down, but after listening to him for only a minute you can tell, he's not playing upside down at all! He went on to win Oregon Country Music Association of America prestigious “Entertainer of the Year”. Sponsored by Portland, Oregon’s country station KUPL, hosted by Smokey Woods. He went on to the National Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada hosted by Airplay International out of Nashville, Tn., and won “Male Vocalist of the Year” and “Entertainer of the Year” In 2000 Steven moved to San Antonio, TX and soon became part of the Texas music scene. There, he wrote many songs and performed on stages, while being influenced by the artist and music of South Texas. In 2001 he moved to Nashville where he breezed into town, and started playing and singing on Broadway. Steven is “King Of the Broadway” Honky Tonks in Nashville, Tennessee. He has sang in most all of them but mostly his home has been the famous “Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge” on Broadway. He packs the crowd in so tight you can’t move and many of the crowd are repeat tourists who’ve come back for another year to see their “hot” and popular entertainer. He has been featured in GQ magazine for the Johnny Cash magazine spread, featured in Nashville Lifestyles Magazine as one of the “must do” things to do in Nashville, and has shared “his” stage with may of the stars who come by to the to the famous stage where they also found their roots from Tootsies Lounge. Since in Nashville, Steven cut his first CD,on the at Tootsies Lounge record label. He wrote eight of the ten songs on his first CD, and has had radio airplay and success. He has also performed on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry with Mel McDaniels and sang and played on the Texas Troubadour Theater Midnight Jubilee radio after the Opry on WSM 650 radio among other many other memorable shows He is currently recording a new album that will be out in the summer of 2009 and will have the hard hitting Rockin Cowboy sound that he has perfected. His huge stage presence and velvet vocals puts on the top of country music for the newest rising star in Music City, and his dynamic show will be touring in a city near you. “Steven is exciting, unpredictable and daring when he performs, he's a must see and a rising star.”
