Suspens was born and raised in the Uptown Philadelphia area known as West Oak Lane. By age 7 he caught the attention of a local promoter and was opening for pioneers such as Big Daddy Kane and Public Enemy to name a few. His mother thought he was to young to enter into the music business that she didn’t understand, but Suspens never stopped writing raps. By the time he was a freshman in high school Suspens hooked up with a local producer/rapper by the name of Kenny Lee and along with their peers they formed the rap group 215 Asasinz. They scraped their money together to record some songs and pressed vinyl and cassettes on a single entitled “Guaranteed Hot Shit” which was a huge hit on the radio and in the streets in Philadelphia and all surrounding areas. The rest of the group was older then Suspens so when they graduated from high school most of them went away to college. Kenny Lee got discouraged and took a job opportunity in Florida. This was the official end of the 215 Asasinz.Since Kenny Lee had taught Suspens everything he new about producing and being an independent artist, Suspens seized this opportunity to get his own thing started. He reunited with a female from his past by the name of MiiMii who had followed the short career of the 215 Asasinz. She believed in Suspens’ vision and together they co-founded Suspens Recording.215 Asasinz' biggest problem was funding their own studio time and pressing up their music. Suspens new if he built his own studio, he could sign artists, record as many songs as he wanted and keep ownership of his masters as long as he was the one pressing up the music and shipping it out. Although it might not have been the smartest thing to do, he did the only thing he could do at the time. Suspens turned to the streets for funding and turned his vision into a reality.Suspens signed Mr. Webb, an affiliate of the 215 Asasinz, his younger protégé from California Tha Boy Leed who was Insidious Misfit at the time and Kar-Lethal Brigante’, MiiMii’s younger brother who was always like the brother Suspens never had. They made a big buzz in Philly and even made a little noise in Texas and California. In fact they made such a buzz that they got a call from Ty Cambell who was an A & R for MCA records at the time before they went out of business. When Ty met with Suspens and MiiMii he was very impressed by their music and movement but said they weren’t big enough yet for a deal with a major label such as MCA. He introduced them to Nasty-Nes who was the biggest College promoter there was and ever since then every single S.R. has released has been in the top 15 on the college charts. In fact Insidious Misfit’s 1st single reached # 2. Suspens street funding finally caught up to him and he was convicted of selling cocaine to a C.I. He kept his mouth shut, got a good lawyer and did minimum time. After headlining a Tour across Southern Pennsylvania for independent artist, Suspens felt like he couldn’t get the support he needed to be anything more then an underground artist residing in Philly. He felt like he needed a fresh start to further his career so Suspens and MiiMii packed-up the studio and relocated to Miami. Here they had all support they could ask for from the world famous DJ Irie, the up and coming DJ Entice and Big Lip Bandit who Suspens had graduated from high school with in Philly just to name a few.In just a 5 month period of time Suspens made an anthem for the Miami Heat which DJ Irie plays at their home games, released a single entitled “Never Fallin Back" which reached # 8 on the college charts, made countless intros for DJs scattered all over the U.S. on major stations, completed 2 versions of his mixtape “Suspens the Don vs. Lil Jon” One hosted by DJ Entice of 99 Jams in Miami and the other by DJ TouchTone of 100.3 the beat in Philly. “Suspens” the Don vs Lil Jon was heavily promoted in Miami, Philadelphia and every city Suspens stepped foot in. Suspens is currently pushing 2 singles “Shake” for the ladies and Clubs as well as “Lord Forgive Em” for the streets and hip hop heads. Suspens is fed up with the empty promises from record labels, both independent and major about releasing his music. So look out for his debut album “Frum Da Mussl” online and in stores May 2008 on Suspens Recording. The rest is to be written.
