With guitar in hand and soulful vocals ready to go, Tayo tells you the the story of his life... and yours. Tayo's writing style depicts true, vivid stories... common stories to which almost everyone can relate. We all have many life experiences that touch us and are accompanied by a wide range of emotions and states of being. Tayo's lyrics zone in on those feelings and states, using his own trials, tribulations and accomplishments as a palette for meaningful and touching lyrics. Tayo has had roots in music since birth, being born into a musical family on his mother's side. Now with a family of his own, as both a muse and material, the pictures painted with his words are more vivid and engaging. Having an ear for production, you will find that Tayo plays all of the instrumentation for all of his compositions. Singers and songwriters that have been inspirational to Tayo include Donny Hathaway, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Sade & Prince. Some of his favorite storytellers of today include Musiq, John Mayer, Lenny Kravitz, Cheryl Crow, the Black Keys and Regina Spektor. Most recently, Tayo (Akintayo Adewole) served as the Musical Director for the 2008 ADCOLOR Awards held in Boca Raton, Florida (www.adcolor.org). His music & publishing company Akande Music, LLC (www.akandemusic.com) served as an In-Kind sponsor for the show. In a house filled with every major advertising company, TV network and brand you can think of, Tayo wrote and performed live the uptempo theme song of the show "Rise", which tied into the montage of the show "Rising Up, Reaching Back". His musical direction throughout the show proved to be a success as the night was spun by celebrity Pepsi DJ Irie, hosted by supermodel Veronica Webb and wrapped up with an All Star award presented to business mogul, Russell Simmons. Tayo is also the 2009 ADCOLOR Awards Musical Director. The awards show will take place in Phoenix, Arizona on October 4th and will be hosted by CNN's very own Soledad O'Brien. Sonicbids.com is hosting a songwriting competition for the 2009 ADCOLOR Awards Compilation CD. The CD will be hand delivered to all of the major advertising and marketing executives that are in attendance to the awards show! This will be an incredible opportunity for exposure for artists selected. See the Sonicbids.com listing for more details (www.sonicbids.com/adcolorawards). Tayo was also a finalist for the 2007 John Lennon Songwriting Contest (www.jlsc.com) in the R&B category. His award winning song, "Only Human" tells a story of a couple at a difficult impass in their marriage, trying to bring resolution to their differences before it's too late. Visit the Winners-Finalist section at www.jlsc.com to hear his song. Tayo has also co-written and co-produced the song "No More Games" (track #11), which is featured on the the 2005 debut album for the Bad Boy Records's boy band, B5. (www.b5online.com)
