About TEAM ENVY
At the age of 15 & 16, after meeting in high school both F.A.M.E. and MAVRIK began working toward finding their true niche in the music industry. With the both of them having a natural gift for rapping and poetically speaking about everything going on in and around their lives, as well as a growing passion for Hip-Hop, they continued to build a music/business and most importantly a brotherly relationship. Christopher “F.A.M.E” Gardner and Blake “MAVRIK” Engles have been flooding the underground circuit with their own sound for years. Both being born and raised in Harlem, New York it was easy for the two to express emotion through their music using life experiences. With their mature and seasoned sound it is clear to see that they’re among the elite, and like no other rap duo ever to touch a microphone. Team Envy has a broad sound that can spark many emotions. They have tracks like “Turn It Up” that’ll make you want to dance, as well as tracks like “Hold On” which speaks about injustice in society, yet gives inspiration and motivation. Their versatility and style along with their sound demonstrates everything entertainment should be about. In the summer of 2003 Team Envy was part of a compilation album “The Life” distributed by MLife productions that sold 2500 units independently. Team Envy then went on to perform at numerous venues in and around New York City, perfecting both their showmanship and stage presence leading them only to earn the title of the modern day RUN DMC. It was through this journey of performances and using their musical gift for recording, that the tag team created songs such as their hit single "I'm so me”,” I am legend", “The Glow’’ featuring Harlem the Artist and more. Team Envy’s music clearly shows that they are a unique group that provide the feeling of Great Iconic Talent that is within steps of becoming Hall Of fame worthy artists. The only thing missing is an opportunity. Through the duration of their careers F.A.M.E. and MAVRIK also received the chance to grow as writers when they were called upon to write along side of Harlem the Artist for R&B submission projects, such as Chris Brown, Ciara, Tyrese, Young Steph, Def Jams up and coming artist Elite, as well as others. In 2006 Team Envy independently dropped their mix tape Humble Beginnings which went on to sell close to 3000 copies. “We not only have what it takes to be in the industry, but we have what it takes to run the industry”, F.A.M.E. says and MAVRIK quickly agrees. Following the release of their highly anticipated album ("Legends In The Making") and receiving a nomination for Best Rap Duo at The Underground Music Awards, the team has vowed to make every year top the last, starting this year off with the debut of the single "I'm So Me" and the announcement of a possible double CD for their sophomore album.
