Bronx, NYC based emcee Teezy-Money has been blessed with the talent of vivid lyricism. In the mid to late 90's he was memorizing whole songs by just about any rapper out, often rewinding the tapes just so he got each lyric just right. He taught himself how to write bars by attempting to re-write the verses that he memorized on paper as he saw it from the rapper's eyes he was listening to. Even then he still never saw HIMSELF as a rapper. In high school, he was forced to memorize long poems from authors such as Edgar Allan Poe and Robert Frost to name a few. This, coupled with him already training himself to memorize lyrics, added to his ability to freestyle and have deep imagery in his rhymes. He started in a local rap group (Fresh 2 Def) and was seen as the leader of the group which dropped an album entitled "Port City Poetry" and a mixtape entitled 'Fresh 2 Def: Da Mixtape." The group unofficially disbanded when members relocated. Teezy-Money has since been on mixtapes by prominent DJ's such as DJ Green Lantern, DJ Vlad and Shadyville DJ's own DJ Moeskino and DJ Gemstarr as well as opened up for Omarion at his Penn State concert in April 2010. Teezy-Money mixes his east coast flow with southern soul obtained from his birthplace and gives a unique mixture of bi-coastal slang and viewpoints making him a clear threat to any emcee and also forcing him to have a more universal sound than the average artist from any one particular region.
