The Crash Motive, a five-man outfit creating a refreshing and memorable sound, is poised to explode into the national consciousness in much the same way it has in its native Delaware. That's where local radio jumped all over "Waiting (Save Your Life)", while the band was still finishing their degrees at the University Of Delaware. The song eventually climbed to #1 on WSTW 93.7, a top 40 station out of Wilmington, DE. On October 9th, 2007 the band released their first album CONSEQUENCE nationally with Wind-up Records. The band's first single "Not Giving Up" has taken a life of it’s own in the world of sports. It all started with a placement in “EA Sport’s Madden 2007” video game. Next, NBC’s hit television show, “Friday Night Lights” began to use the song in their promos. Shortly afterwards, the NFL recognized the song’s potential as a stadium anthem. Now, NFL fans can hear the song played in stadiums throughout the country on a regular basis. It was even featured in a 20 second highlight clip during Superbowl XLII. The band members include Derek Fuhrmann (lead vocals, guitar), Shawn Manigly (lead guitar), Jamie Orlando (keys), and Josh Berger (bass guitar). Since forming in 2003, The Crash Motive has toured most of the United states. They’ve shared stages with the likes of The All American Rejects, Lifehouse, Collective Soul, Live, and The B-52’s. “We live to perform”, says Manigly. “Our only goal in our lives right now is to spread our music as far and wide as possible.” Fuhrmann adds, "Our career choice has provided us with a lot of experiences that we wouldn't have had otherwise, we feel very honored each time we play for a crowd, I hope that people will relate to our music, and to the five of us. That's what makes playing music so rewarding."
