After moving back to Los Angeles from NYC, 17 year old guitarist Chris Parsekian joined the THE FANCY LADS who were on two compilations- "Jeff Dahl & Ultra Under Present: Trash On Demand Vol. 2" alongside The Jacobites and The Chamber Strings, and on the BOMP records release of the indie movie soundtrack "Born To Lose" which featured The Joneses, Iggy and the Stooges, and infamous 70's punk band The Zeros. After the untimely death of lead singer/frontman Robbie Pivara, the group dissolved. Two years later he formed the short lived but very successful band DENIM (not to be confused with the British band of the same name). They appeared on one compilation "Dr. Wu Compilation 3". The band broke up in the middle of recording their never finished EP after only a year together. Chris next founded GOOD TIME WOMEN as the lead singer/guitarist and sole songwriter for the group. The band had never even played a show in their hometown of Los Angeles, when they decided to do a two week tour across the country. They adopted NYC as their new home. Within a matter of a month of shameless self promotion (mind you this is pre-myspace), the band grew a huge local and industry buzz. They attracted the attention of UK publication NME, which featured Good Time Women in their "WHAT'S ON THE NME STEREO" column, and included a short article on the band. The band broke up, then attempted getting back together two separate times before finally calling it quits in late 2005. The Fantastic Harlan Jones Band is the brainchild of singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Chris Parsekian. Chris records, produces, and plays all instruments on all of the recorded tracks, with the exception of the keyboards (Steve Ardire) and the occasional guest guitarist (most notably, Gabe Lowry). The band is always in the process of recording new songs, proving to themselves and to everybody else that there's no shortage of classic sounding records. The band is looking forward to spreading their trademark soulful sound and leaving their mark through touring. They're poised and determined to show the world that authentic rock'n'roll is not only not dead, but alive and kicking!
