This band, The Hops, is now an extension of me, not just a musical band. It's some kind of living breathing Frankenstein. Formed in 2008, we recorded our debut EP in 2009 and we've just released our debut full-length album, Won't It Be Fun. Recorded at Gravity Studios and co-produced by Ian Spudes, their new kid on the block (jk), we've been promoting it at shows all around the midwest. A little about us: I am the bassist and lead vocalist. I was in the band Broken Belts when I first moved to Chicago from Texas. Broken Belts is where I met TJ Walker, our very talented drummer. TJ is a click track. I often think we don't need one cause he's so dead on. In late 2011 and early 2012, with the parting of one talented guitarist, the Hops gained two new guitarists that brought a new flair to the band. Nick Ludwig and Peter Hahn help flesh the band out to give us a thick layered live sound. The fun is just beginning for this quartet! That's The Hops...
