In hearing the name The Huge Hefners, you’re most likely envisioning images of a college frat party or scantily clad models. However, when you listen to the freshman CD by the band of the same name, you realize that while this imagery may be appropriate on some levels...there's also more than meets the proverbial eye. They are a Nashville rock band who are proudly debuting their 11 song self titled CD; comprised of strong vocals, melodic bass riffs, dynamic drum beats and catchy guitar hooks that will have you addicted to their tunes at first listen. Their songs have already caught the attention of industry professionals. They’ve just signed a publishing deal on this first recording effort with 615 Music, who has had a great deal of success in placing songs into network television programming and major motion pictures. There is certainly a raucous kick off to the CD with the up tempo power punk pop anthem titled "Garage"; which would bode well at many a late night campus soiree. At the same time, this collection of songs also includes many poignant reflections on the world around us through songs like "Univibe", "Why Are You Here" and "Independent Films". Of course, no body of musical works would be complete without commentary on the condition of the struggle between the sexes and The Huge Hefners definitely place their own stamp on the subject with songs like "Seeing Green", "Take My Name" and "Can You Hear Me Now". Finally, there are also radio friendly jingles that take on a more deliberate approach such as "Is Your Daddy Home" and "I Will Sleep". Whatever your taste in rock...this band has something you can sink your teeth into. The Huge Hefner's are an exciting live band in addition to being creative recording artists. Their shows reflect their slightly impetuous nature and are definitely not to be missed. The members strive to achieve that fine balance between their drive to share their rock and roll hymns and their mantra to never take themselves too seriously. They enjoy a fun-loving brotherhood of musicality and creativity. thehugehefners@thehugehefners.com
