Bouncing between countless bands since age 16, Jack started The Jacks in 2010 with the intent of doing his own thing. "I was sick of making other people's music," he says. "This was about doing the music I loved, with the sound I wanted, without asking for anyone elese's approval or say-so."
And fans responded. The Jacks went from non-existence to packed shows up and down Sunset Strip in a matter of weeks. The release of a 2011 EP -- printed on blank CDs and handed out to fans only at shows -- grew a die-hard cult following, boosted by the popularity of the head-banging single "Bought And Sold," which rose to anthem-like status in the LA indie scene.
With a style frequently compared to the gritty, naked crunch of The White Stripes and twisted vocal delivery of Cage The Elephant, The Jacks add a subtle touch of electro and hip-hop to a sound that can only be called their own. "When you hear a Jacks song, I want you to hear something familiar mashed up with something completely new," says Jack. "It's that straight ahead grinding rock sound you grew up with, but with a new twist you just can't put your finger on."
