Since moving to California two years ago, Finian and Ciaran Makepeace haveteamed with long-time friend and bassist Conor Gaffney to perform their upbeatacoustic music, in venues from San Francisco to San Diego. Currently residingin LA, Finian and Ciaran will reunite this summer with their brothers, Aidanand Liam to collaborate on The Makepeace Brothers' debut CD. The four Makepeace Brothers grew up in the vibrant music community of Ithaca,N.Y. Although they have been singing and playing music together for most oftheir lives, the brothers were first inspired to write their own songs duringa year-long motorhome tour of the US. This trip gave them direct contact witha wide range of American Roots music and the musicians who play it – frombluegrass in North Carolina to Jazz in New Orleans. Their musical andcultural horizons were broadened further by exposure to African, Latin, andCeltic music at summer festivals in New York State, as well as by theirexperiences as exchange students in Costa Rica, Brazil and England
