Biography

Theory of Decadence was formed in September of '08 after the demise of a band that Rigo, Randy and Garrett were in. Garrett left for a while and Rigo and Randy stayed together to write music that would venture away from the former band. Theory of Decadence was formed in September of '08 after the demise of a band that Rigo, Randy and Garrett were in. Garrett left for a while and Rigo and Randy stayed together to write music that would venture away from the former band. We didn't know where we wanted it to go, so decided we'd write, and however it turned out is what it was, be it Progressive, Metal, Dark Metal, or whatever. A couple of months went by and Rigo and Randy seemed to hit a wall. We had talked to bassists and guitarists alike, all talk and no show. Needless to say things seemed like it was going to fall apart. Soon, Garrett contacted us saying he was ready to get back into playing bass and taking it seriously. So, the three of us fell right back into things. We got a few songs together and tweaked on one that we worked up in the former band. In late August Randy contacted an old friend, Joe, and asked what he thought about coming out to the band room and seeing how we all gelled musically. Well, he came out and it seemed to be a perfect fit. He has brought things into the band that really accented the music we had already written and challenged the rest of us to grow musically by bringing in his musical styling and ideas. What has come out is Theory of Decadence. A blend of many different influences and tastes. We recorded our demo in Joe's in home studio in late October through early November, with Randy's drums being done at Armstrong Recording in Tulsa, then mastered in Joe's home studio. At this time Theory of Decadence is going through a personnel change. Joe has left the band to pursue his own musical style and do what he needs to do. We now have a new lead guitarist, we are continuing to write new music, some of which will be on here someday. We are going in to the studio on April 30th to recorg our first CD. We are continuing to grow musically and share in ideas of creativity. What has come forth from the merging of ideas and influences is something that we believe is a sound different from all else that is commonly heard and played. May you find it enjoyable and music you want to hear over and over again. So, if you like our stuff, let us know by sending a note or simply listening to us and telling your friends about us. If you don't like it, please, let us know what we need to do different. Thanx!!
