The Stagger Rats were formed in the winter of 2008 by Daniel Paylor, Kai Wallace, Callum Easter and Craig McMullen. They had a notion of distancing themsemselves from the established indie sound and goin' for a bit of gypsy death funk. The Stagger Rats were formed in the winter of 2008 by Daniel Paylor, Kai Wallace, Callum Easter and Craig McMullen. They had a notion of distancing themsemselves from the established indie sound and goin' for a bit of gypsy death funk. After recruiting established Edinburgh musician Jack Sandison on bass and crafting some fine new songs, they got to work on getting tight and are now out an about giggin in Edinburgh, Glasgow and anywhere else the crimson fun machine Josephine can ride on. They are currently arranging a tour for the summer and hopefully beyond. The Stagger Rats' songs are set to feature on Pimp: Scratched Inside, a film starring Danny Dyer, with recording set for July.
