MEETING SANDY CRAW. (Taken from Malcolm Robinson's auto-biography) In 1971, I was introduced by a friend of mine at the time Bobby Allardice to his cousin Sandy Craw as we shook hands Sandy looked me up and down and no doubt was wondering who on Earth I was. Anyway, we soon got talking and I found out that we both not only had a love of music, but also of the Beatles as well. Indeed, I seem to recall we went indoors where Sandy asked me if I had heard this Beatles track followed by “what about this one, have you heard this one?” It soon became apparent that we had a lot in common. RECORDING OUR SONGS ON AUDIO TAPE It was in April 1973 that Sandy and I decided to finally record our own home made songs onto audio tape. As stated earlier, both Sandy and I were forming quite a bond and our love for music and the guitar was growing with each musical session. My passion at this time was definitely more for the guitar than it was for chasing girls. Strange as this may sound now, that most certainly was the case then. Many nights were spent, mostly in my bedroom writing and practising songs and it was only a natural progression that we would put these songs to tape. In most of the songs I played rhythm guitar whilst Sandy played some lead guitar licks. Most of the songs we wrote back then were dedicated to previous girlfriends, Nan Fotheringham, Rosemary Allan, (later to become my wife) Denise !! Janie, Jacqueline (Scobbie !!) The songs you are about to hear were poorly recorded (We're talking about one of those small Dansette audio recorders so you may have to listen to these songs on headphones) To be honest these songs are crap, but hey, it's part of my history and part of who I was back then. These songs are from the years 1974 to 1976 and are from different cassette albums. Enjoy (Malcolm Robinson November 2009)
