Started in January of ‘07, Matt, Lupe, Evan, and Randy started what is today “The Victory of Reason”. Which came from a book about the rise of Christianity in the 16th Century. Yet the band does not consider itself a Christian Metal band, we are all strong believers in GOD. After our first two recordings (So Hollow, Heart Turns Black) Evan parted ways with the band to pursue his own endeavors. A good friend of Matts named James, took the roll of guitar and has never looked back. “ James brought a melodic and wide range of music content to the band in which we lacked in the beginning. The atmosphere and moral of the group was made stronger by his joining.” VOR did not have a bass player yet, and all attempts have came back with nothing. Matt brought up the idea of him playing bass and singing, which worked out perfectly. The first shows were a success and the band learned they were in for a strong following. During this time the initial writings of “Romantic Infestation and My Adversity” had taken place. The band became stressed out on having Randy Seol (Strawberry Alarm Clock) behind the drum set. “Age never mattered, but Randy did not understand this genre of music.” After countless meetings pertaining to this subject, the band decided to let Randy go. Two months passed with one solid drummer auditioning. Pierce had the mentality and skills o f what the band was looking for, both on and off the stage, the band new he was the one. “The band clicks more” is what we heard from our fans. Now with the addition of our high speed low drag bassist Gabe, The Victory of Reason is unstoppable. The band has endured many lineup changes since the beginning (some of which are not noted), but has always strived on to continue what they love. From our first practice, to signing to The Blackening Records, Basson equipment endorsement, and sharing stages with national acts, the band can only help but thank all the fans new and old, for getting us this far.
