San Diego native singer/musician, Tokeli, has been nominated by Los Angeles Music Awards “Jazz Artist of the Year” for 2010. Tokeli is thrilled to be honored in this global category for jazz. She is a jazz and self-titled “World Groove” artist who brings passion and charisma to the stage. She freshly arranges Brazilian and standard jazz in hip, urban grooves. Tokeli’s distinctive musical flair brings the joys of jazz to people who didn’t know they loved jazz. The LA Music Awards nod is just one more example of how her expressive romantic music has international appeal. Her debut album, “Where Do You Start?” (produced by multi-award-winning guitarist and producer Peter Sprague, a fellow San Diegan) received a “Jazz Album of the Year” nomination by the San Diego Music Awards in 2007. Tokeli is an international artist in the truest sense of the word.
