Latonya Geneva Givens aka Tone Trezure was born in Saginaw ,Mi. She began playing drums at the age of 2 and by Age 5 was pegged a Moazart of drumming. Tone grew up in the small city of Flint, Michigan where she played at her Grandfather’s church. by her early teens she began writing and producing music. Latonya Geneva Givens aka Tone Trezure was born in Saginaw ,Mi. She began playing drums at the age of 2 and by Age 5 was pegged a Moazart of drumming. Tone grew up in the small city of Flint, Michigan where she played at her Grandfather’s church. by her early teens she began writing and producing music. She is fluent in Jazz and Classical music as Well as Modern Gospel. Not just your average Joan/ tone is a connoisseur of great music playing 6 instruments in her own right. Her 1st major performance was opening for the Act “Special Gift”. She has shared the stage with a many Gospel Artists such as Rance Allen, Kayla Parker, Commissioned, Parks Stewart, Witness, Nu-joi, Antun Foster & Chemistry, Karen Clark-Sheard as well as God’s Property! Tone branched out in 1997 when she was discovered by Brandon Williams and Johnny Evans while playing her Cd in the Guitar Center in Southfield, MI. She was later invited to join in on a studio writing session with Deanun Porter aka Kon Artsit from D-12. Her career took a major spin. in 2003 she performed alongside the “Shady Camp on dj Green Lanterns “Invasion” which led her to her 1st major placement on Snoop Dogg’s “Rhythm and Gangsta album "Promise I" and later "Ride or Die" on Xzibit's "Weapons of Mass Destruction. In 2005 while pondering what direction to go in with her career, she received a phone call from an unforgotten friend that she met during her many a sessions with Mr. Porter, ...Mr. Jay Electronica. He relayed a message that an Artist who Tone loved and admired wanted to speak to her. (in a southern-swack type of voice) Hello, Peace and Blessings Sis. In a giddiness running inside, Tone replied,, Erykah is this you girl??? OMG it is. From that conversation , they built a relationship to be entrusted through great mentoring and divine fellowship. Then later on that year she linked up with Bilal Oliver to write 2 songs on his leaked album "Love for Sale". Tone Trezure has since worked with Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Dj- Quik, Erykah Badu, Jay-Electronica, Symbolic One and Strange Fruit Project, Pharoah Monche, Bilal Oliver, Kurupt, Terrace Martin, Rick Ross, Denaun Porter, Rah Diggah, Ann Nesby, Calvin Richardson and the Great Quincy Jones. also a long list of Independent Artists. Tone Trezure is set to release a line of Ep’ s to lead up to her much Anticipated Album! Plus a special edition Ep duo with her mother, Gospel Recording artist Cherry Givens entitled “From the Kitchen to the Front Porch!
