Her musical influences range from R&B, Pop, Jazz and the Blues to Gospel and is an avid fan of Broadway musicals and showtunes. Tonya is also involved in community affairs, participating in various programs ranging from City Year, Cyzygy and PLMP, a teen-oriented organization for inner-city youths. Tonya has demonstrated her abilitity as a songwriter by collaborating on songs for her upcoming debut CD. She's been referred to as "the woman with the velvet sound and Alicia Keys' style."
