Since arriving on the country music scene as a CCMA showcase artist in 2003, Tracy Millar has made great strides in the business due to her sensational vocal ability and unsurpassed work ethic. Early recognition of her traditional style has made it obvious to fans and industry personnel that her road is indeed a “country road”. Growing up in Hines Creek, Alberta, musical influences such as Charley Pride and Ricky Skaggs helped develop Tracy's love for traditional country music. Her repertoire has been enjoyed by many as she stays true to her classic country roots. Her musical ability was evident early. Singing by the age of three and having an incredible ear for music, she taught herself to play guitar at the age of nine. She continued her musical education learning clarinet & piano, and as an adult, she has added bass guitar & mandolin to her list of talents. She started song writing in her teen years, and continues writing independently as well as co-writes with some of Canada’s top songwriters. Music has always been a big part of her life, but Tracy Millar is also a Registered Nurse. However, she took a giant leap of faith a few years ago, and left a permanent nursing position behind to pursue music on a fulltime basis. She quickly became a crowd favourite anywhere she performed, and the long list of show dates is testament to the demand for Tracy’s talents. TRACY MILLAR has been invited to perform at major Canadian events such as Big Valley Jamboree (Main Stage), Telus Country Fever (Main Stage), Craven Country Jamboree, Global Country All-Star Concert, , Edmonton Grand Prix, The Magnificent River Rats Festival, Alberta Salute to Country Music (Juno’s 2008), and has shared the stage with Canadian artists - Duane Steele, Prairie Oyster, Aaron Lines, Emerson Drive, Shane Yellowbird, Brad Johner, the Good Brothers, Adam Gregory, Corb Lund, and many others. In addition, Tracy generously gives her time and talents to various community events, fundraisers, and charities. Tracy released her first album “You Go Girl…” to retail January 2005. As a newcomer, she received significant airplay on both commercial country radio and campus/specialty radio stations. She also promoted this album with a cross-Canada radio tour. In April 2005, Tracy signed a radio promotions deal with Comstock Records to promote her album to Europe, Australia & New Zealand. She has several songs in rotation throughout Europe and attained her first Top 20 single with “From The First Hello”. The response and feedback has been overwhelming as she looks forward to conquering this market even further! “I’m Not That Girl Anymore” (Spring 2008) is Tracy’s second album release and showcases her growth as a songwriter and as an artist. Its traditional country and bluegrass styling indicate that Canada undoubtedly has a new and captivating voice that simply must be heard. By playing her own style, her love and enthusiasm for the music is obvious in each performance and every song she sings. Tracy Millar captivates all listeners with her incredible voice, kind demeanour, humour, energy, and passion. It has been said that though she may be small in stature, she has a big heart, and an even bigger voice. She is truly a "country girl" to the core.
