Southeast Arkansas claims home to this group of what they would describe themselves as “good ole boys.” The band was formed in the small town of Hamburg although after their first practice it was evident their music was anything but…Each member brings something unique and untouched to the group. Singer-songwriter, guitarist and band founder, Trey Hawkins, has been reeling in Arkansas audiences for years with his real life lyrics of the breakups, the breakdowns and the victories of his own personal experiences that flow from his songs. Being no stranger in Southeast Arkansas where the band was formed, from local radio stations to Talladega Motor Speedway, Trey Hawkins is a name that is noticed and remembered. Gaining popularity with his first, self released album, Southern Son and in the last year, after the release of his second album, No Lines, No Limits, No Gimmicks, Hawkins spun out what is now the Trey Hawkins Band, with guitarists, Aaron Murphy and Andrew Breedlove; drummer, Jonathan Breedlove and Mark Bolin on bass. After a short time of rehearsing and touring it was evident that together, the five of them, were the creation of the musical aspiration they have been chasing since any of them could remember. It is what they were born to do. The band made their debut at the Bourbon Mall, in Leland, Mississippi and has since drew crowds at local hotspots all across the Tri-State area, including an acoustic spot on the set of KATV’s, Good Morning Arkansas. THB rocked the stage at the 2009 MusicFest in El Dorado, Arkansas, along side headliners, Blues Travelers, Joe Nichols and Jack Ingram, which was quoted to be “one of the most successful in its 22 year history! With record setting attendance levels and boasting the biggest headliners ever at MusicFest.” The Trey Hawkins Band jaw-dropped fans leaving their mark in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky where they opened for the legendary Kentucky Headhunters. THB says their favorite place to jam is “everywhere.” “We want to play anywhere at anytime for anybody, because, to put it simply, that is what we love to do. It is our passion.” Each member of Trey Hawkins Band brings in their own musical influence from blues, jazz, country and rock to a splash of soul. The collaboration of mixed genres fuels the originality of the Trey Hawkins Band. The musical influences of Waylon Jennings and the Allman Brothers Band filter in their music with a rocked out twist screaming Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Black Crowes. And just when you think they sound like “that,” here comes the instrumental phenomena of the Dave Matthews Band and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Their unmatched style of singing and prodigal instrumental talent all held together with fresh, addictive melodies bring their vocal and instrumental performances to life at every show. The band will begin touring after the first of the year and is set to release their second album.
