I was born in 1943 and always loved my parents' choice of music - light jazz, Cole Porter, Mills Brothers, etc. Started playing guitar when I was 15 in 1958 and then ran into Delta and Piedmont blues and never got over them.
Started playing in public places (bars and clubs) around my home area in northern Iowa when I was 17 and kept it up through the summer of 1969 when I played a little bar called Andy's on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. I left Andy's to play the Sazerac Lounge in the Hotel Roosevelt and left there to go back and finish college. That was the end of my musical "career", but I never quit playing or learning. Just a word of encouragement - I'm now 70 and still learning and there is no end in sight.
I still play some of my dad's music - Stardust, Stormy Weather, etc. and write some of my own which is usually related to the Ozarks hills and streams I live among and love so well.
