We started in 2000 as a two-person-constellation, Arthur at the guitar (and roaring into the micro) and Peter at the keyboard/piano. Our compositions grew ( and still grow ) mostly spontaneously, when we meet and just start playing. Then we work them out intensively. Our compositions grew ( and still grow ) mostly spontaneously, when we meet and just start playing. Then we work them out intensively. In 2001 we met Carsten, who enriched our music with his voice and new texts. Umbra Oculta is the combination of three completely different guys of different musical origin. Arthur brings in his Love for gothic, metal and hard guitar-sounds, Peter, who by the way also gives classical concerts at the piano, and Carsten, who shaped his voice in gospel music. What connects us, is our thinking and feeling, its transfer into music and the wish that our fans can find themselves in the different phases of their Lives as well and so get the feeling of being understood and connected with it.
