Using the moniker SLIM, he has released a song titled “Mr. Right Now” featuring fellow artist, G and a guest feature on the hook from Pressha who had the hit single, “Splackavelli” , in anticipation of his upcoming promotional album, titled “ROOTZ”. He decided to call it “ROOTZ”, because he feels the rap game has changed. Sometimes change is good, but he feels the game is missing that real, educated, street artist that brings to the forefront not only the flashing of the cars, jewels, money, and women, but also the grimy harsh realities of our culture. “Rootz” will bring a breath of fresh air to the rap game and take it back. In addition to releasing his own music, SLIM also writes songs for other artists and producers. SLIM has performed at venues across the CSRA while receiving favorable music review on online publications YouTube.com and ReverbNation.com.
In 2009, SLIM released a mixtape titled, GRIND TYME VOL 1: DA STRUGGLE/DA HUSTLE. This mixtape was the first official release from SMS ENT, including the banging, street single “Dey Know”, which sold out over and over again. This mixtape was sold out the trunk of their cars to co-workers, friends, family, and individuals in the CSRA. GRIND TYME VOL 2 was released in 2010 which included 18 tracks from artists of Sweat Tea Society and W BROZ MUSIK, which included the smash single “My Millionz”. SMS ENT is all about being true to themselves and the fans, so GRIND TYME isn’t only a volume, it speaks volumes on the movement. SLIM remained busy in 2011 by releasing songs via Facebook, YouTube, and ReverbNation.com for digital download. The songs have been released and performed in anticipation for his upcoming release album, “ROOTZ”, scheduled to be released late June/early August, 2012. “Rootz” has been received very well and consists of SLIM’s single “Mr Right Now”, which he hopes to hit radio soon
