Vaughn Kennedy, AKA Von Dutch, is a solo, unsigned artist in search of expanding his budding rap career. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio for most of his childhood and early adult life, Von was in and out of jail. Basically, he made his life on the streets of Columbus. Circumstances had him in and out of jail during his juvenile years and incarcerated for three years during his adult life. Music has been the sole element on keeping him grounded and gave him the inspiration to keep going while locked up. Once on the outs, Von decided to take his love for music to the next level and began putting the lyrics he wrote while incarcerated down to beats. An Ohio native, Von soon realized that being an inspiring rap artist from Ohio was quite an obstacle to overcome. Von is an artist that writes his own lyrics, picks his own beats and has much insight on the production stage of his songs. Von Dutch has opened up for the likes of Cassidy, Afroman and Twista. Some of the early influences in Von Dutch’s rap career include Biggie, Tu-Pac and T.I. His style and lyrics depict real “street life” situations. Von Dutch receives praises from audience members alike.
