Wendy Starland was named VH1's “Best Emerging Artist.” Starland was also honored by The Songwriter's Hall Of Fame for her top 10 hit song, Dancing With The Sea. Her self-written & produced single was released in Europe alongside multi-platinum artists, Norah Jones, Feist, and Edie Brickell, to name a few. Her song landed at #8 on the charts, giving her the opportunity to tour throughout Europe to thousands of fans.
She is a featured lead vocalist on multi-platinum artist Moby’s Grammy nominated album, Last Night, which went to #1 on the Billboard charts. She has also sung backup for Michael Bolton on CBS's The Early Show and has opened for Sean Paul, Grandmaster Flash, Shawn Colvin, Vonda Shepard, Foo Fighters, Fishbone, The English Beat, Sony artist Mike Posner, and Universal/Verve artists Jonatha Brooke and Lucy Woodward. She has written and recorded duets with The Wu Tang Clan, and Capone of Island Def Jam's Capone & Noriega.
Wendy was solely responsible for discovering Lady Gaga and landed her a production deal with Rob Fusari (Beyonce, Jessica Simpson, Whitney Houston, etc.) that resulted in Gaga signing major label record and publishing deals. Wendy and Lady Gaga have written songs together that were produced by multi-platinum producer, Rob Fusari, for whom Wendy was writing with regularly for a 2-3 year period.
Fashion diva Donna Karan, celebrity clothing line Boy Meets Girl, Cakewalk by Roland, Mobile Vision Player, Milestone Brand beverages, and skin care/ makeup line, Beauty Society, are all using her music and image in their ad campaigns to represent their multi-million dollar companies (featured on network TV including ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, as well as Teen Vogue, Teen People, Cosmo Girl, Elle Magazine, and The New York Times.)
Her songs have been heard in countless movies and TV shows, including MTV's hit series "The Hills" the lead promos for 2 NBC primetime series, "Las Vegas" and "Hawaii" and ABC's "Regis and Kelly." Wendy collaborated with legends and Grammy winners for her upcoming album: Stephen Bishop,Tony Levin, Jerry Marotta, Arturo O'Farrill, Oz Noy and the A.C.O. Val Vibrata Symphony Orchestra in Abruzzo, Italy.
She is also a confirmed performer at the Imagine Music & Art Festival, produced by the organizers of Woodstock, who expect 1,000,000 attendees and 300,000,000 televised viewers worldwide.
