About Wes McDonough
Wes McDonough comes from an extremely supportive family, which made his choice to pursue a music career in Nashville simple. Hailing from Frederick, Maryland this soulful pop crooner has the power and vocal abilities to engage any audience.
While in college, Wes played in bars and clubs around Baltimore. He continued writing, and played his originals at gigs. After college, Wes started playing music full time. In 2002, he put out a CD under the band name Lira; an EP entitled “See Forever” that sold 2,500 copies.
His song “Falling” placed in the 2003 John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the Rock category. Upon signing with Deep South Entertainment in 2003, Wes did a small tour of the east coast. Wes has headlined sold-out shows at Fletcher’s and the 8×10 both located in Baltimore, MD. Wes also shared the stage with Better than Ezra, Violent Femmes, Carbon Leaf, and Nine Days.
