Shared band influences and a singular artistic direction are often hard-fought things. Given the scope of music available for purchase and download, it is now possible to listen to the exact same kind of music as the person beside you, and still have considerable gaps in what you've heard and the other has. As such, the pools that represent a musicians personal tastes and abilities often do not touch edges with others, and cohesion can be an uphill struggle. Even those who know the group of musicians that currently comprise "Worlds" would be hard-pressed to find a gap in the palates of this roster. A sincere shared appreciation and knowledge of a wide base of music, an open-minded approach to the creation and structuring of songs; as well as a passion for the improvised moments that live musicians crave, all make their presence felt in "Worlds". The band has a predeliction for heavier moments, and there is no shortage of angular, buzzsaw dissonance, or the bands particular blend of crust punk-inspired rave-ups offset by amplifier-worshipping sludge riffs. But even at these times, a clear focus is kept on interplay, flow and musicality. Melody emerges in the form of cleanly played jazz and harmonically droning chord progressions, reverb-soaked tremolo picking and epic, down-tuned power chords. And regardless of what is coming from the speakers, every note is delivered with the conviction and intensity that the band strives to make its' hallmarks.
