Born January 2, 1988 in Philadelphia, PA but raised in Greensboro, NC, Young Stacks was just another statistic used to categorize African Americans. He was born into a classification full of low income families such as his; living pay check to pay check, but still managing to get by from month to month. A quiet kid who seemed to find trouble everywhere he went, Stacks had his fair share of fights growing up. Added to that, was an attitude and stubborn mindset that often left Young in difficult situations to say the least. It wasn’t until high school that maturity started to kick in, and he started to change into a person more self-motivated and driven. All the spitting on bus rides and in bathrooms at school while playing cards made high school go by quickly. Mix that with good grades and one could argue that these were some of the better days for Young. Still far from being called an artist, Stacks liked rapping and the attention and recognition that accompanied being nice. Although just a hobby, it was obvious that people liked listening and seeing him rhyme, but the road would be a long one if he really wanted to take rapping more serious. The first studio session ever was at a local spot in Greensboro. Young Stacks and his homie, J-Rich, laid down four tracks and that was it. While getting a feel for the studio atmosphere and learning what to and what not to do, Stacks and his crew finally found a home at JM Studios in 2009. It was at that very studio that Stacks recorded the hits Swagg Stupid and Babygirl, as well as future hits Standout and Go Girl. He grew into the artist you see and hear today. With a drive like none other and a talent level that most can only fathom, the sky is far from the limit for this young artist. In a state where hip-hop is for better words, "at a standstill," he developed exponentially by taking the time to find himself and learn about various methods and styles. He can truly be as good as he wants to be. Impressive hooks and verses that combine swag and lyrical ability make him stand out from his peers. And at only 22 years of age, Stacks is right where he needs to be. The grind continues as he pursues greatness on his way to a successful career. It will not be long before the world knows the name, Young Stacks.
